
Aimee Golden
Aimee is a lifelong resident of Joplin. She is married and has four daughters with her husband. Being a mother, Aimee is keenly aware of the challenges of raising children in today’s world of constant change, technological dangers, and financial worries. Her life’s mission has been to create a safe, caring space for individuals and families to find support during difficult times and personal struggles. Aimee is passionate about caring for children and strengthening the families of this community, as well as empowering parents through counseling and coaching.
[read more]With increasing academic and peer pressures on our student population, Aimee frequently works in consultation with our local schools to advocate for her student clients. She promotes student emotional well-being through mental health awareness and suicide intervention and prevention in our schools and community. She is currently working on additional graduate education and training toward her Professional School Counselor certification to further support her clients.
Aimee received her Master of Science (MS) and Specialist in Education (EdS) in Community Counseling from Pittsburg State University (PSU). She has been an instructor at PSU teaching both undergraduate and graduate psychology courses. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and has special interest in neuropsychology and anxiety disorders.
Since graduating in 2004, Aimee has been counseling individuals of the Four State area and joined Counseling Associates of the Four States, LLC in 2009. She is experienced in working with clients of all ages and emotional difficulties to heal individuals and promote healthy relationships. She believes in treating the whole person, including emotional, physical, and spiritual concerns.
Aimee is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). She has presented sessions at the American Counseling Association national conventions in Kansas City and Anaheim, California. She has spoken at auxiliary group meetings, community events, and local schools and colleges regarding mental health issues, parenting, and suicide intervention and prevention.
